The Tech Navigator

Answer seven quick questions about your kids and the tech they use. Get a plan made for your family: what to talk about, what to turn on, and what to do first.

  • About 3 minutes
  • Saved to a link you can revisit
  • Nothing about your kids is stored

How it works

Three minutes now. A plan you can keep.

  1. Tell us about your kids

Their ages, nothing more. No names, no accounts, no data about your children is stored.

  2. Pick their devices, apps and your worries

Phones, consoles, games, social apps, and the four things on your heart right now. Not sure? We suggest the usual suspects for their age.

  3. Get your Navigator plan

A page built for your family, saved to a link. Print it, share it with a co-parent, or email it to yourself.

What's inside

Everything a worried parent actually needs, in one place

  • Your priority topics

The risks that matter for your kids’ ages and apps, explained plainly: what it is, why it matters, what to do.

  • Settings for every app you named

Quick tips from our guides, and the official parental-controls page for each device, console and app.

  • Conversation starters by age

    Questions a 7-year-old, a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old will actually answer. Warm, not scary.

  • A 30-day checklist

Small, concrete steps, two or three a week. Tick them off; your progress is saved with your plan.

  • Stay current

New settings, new laws and new features on the apps your kids use, as they happen.

  • Help when it's urgent

The lines that answer at 2 a.m.: 988, the CyberTipline, Take It Down. On every plan, always.

How we talk to you

Made with love and protection in mind

Your kid isn't the problem. The design of some of these apps can be. The Tech Navigator never shames, never scares, and never leaves you without something you can do tonight.

  1. Wisdom first

The why before the how: what changes at 8, 12 and 16, then the setting to flip.

  2. Discernment you keep

Three questions to ask before any new app, so the next one doesn't need a new guide.

  3. Something to do tonight

Every topic ends in a setting, a conversation or a boundary you can act on today.

Questions parents ask

Is it really free?

Yes. The Tech Navigator is free for every family, whether or not you ever subscribe to Parent ProTech. The full video guides it points to are part of the library, which starts with a free trial.

What do you store about my kids?

Only the age groups you pick. No names, no birthdays, no accounts. If you ask for the plan by email, we keep that address so we can send the link.

Can I change my answers later?

Any time. Open your plan’s link, choose Update my answers, and your plan rebuilds itself. It also stays current on its own as new guides and settings are added.

Ready? It takes about three minutes.

You're already doing the most important thing: paying attention.
